About twenty years ago, in the early 1990s, we wrote a Special Report concerning the emergence of Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis. Since then, we have continued to keep a wary eye on developments within the burgeoning, and now, quite frankly, scary realm of Multi-Drug Resistant pathogens (which we have nicknamed “MDR Superbugs“). A couple of years ago, we published a confidential Special Report (“Superbugs: The Coming Deadly Global Pandemic”) which was sent to our paid subscribers. The alarm we sounded in that Report was the result of months and months of research, and thoughtful reflection over the years.
Since then, we have concluded that it would be a good idea to make our findings, opinion, speculation and recommendations accessible to a wider reading audience, and this information can now be found on our blog, MDR Superbugs. We encourage you—no, we urge you—to read the current post there (“Whistling Past the Graveyard”) where we interact with the recently released report from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), “Antibiotic Resistance Threats in the United States, 2013”. The CDC report claims to be “a snapshot of the complex problem of antibiotic resistance today and the potentially catastrophic consequences of inaction”. In a nutshell, we think the CDC’s report has been way too long in coming, the warning and the sense of urgency are far too weak and, in the end, the effort may turn out to be too little, too late. Also, if you haven’t yet read “Superbugs: The Coming Deadly Global Pandemic”, we think it would be profitable for you to read it and then compare it with what’s finally coming out of the CDC. Things were already bad when we first published the “Superbugs” report. CDC notwithstanding, we see no reason to believe that the situation is any better now. This is information you dare not ignore. It just might keep you and your loved ones from becoming casualties. Read Full Report —> NOW…
